even though i have gemini pro, this is still the first place i ask.

today i uploaded a scanned document—a plain white page with text on it—and asked it to "extract the text."

instead, it extracted the text by literally removing all the words and giving me back a completely blank white page.

if it's making mistakes like this on the plus plan, i don't even want to imagine what the free version is doing.

i'm not particularly deep into ai. up until recently, i'd barely used it at all. but over the past two or three weeks, i've started trying a few different models for small tasks and general questions.

for casual conversations, chatgpt seemed pretty good. but when it came to actually getting work done, gemini completely outclassed it.
