global satellite internet service in development by spacex. starlink aims to reach global service levels by 2021. the satellites used for this are compact and lightweight and are launched using the spacex falcon 9 rocket. spacex will utilize thousands of low-orbit satellites to provide starlink coverage, and is working to keep space debris at a minimum by ensuring the satellites will drop from orbit and burn up in earth’s atmosphere at the end of their life. the project is estimated to cost about $10billion usd.
