ms. rachel

one of the few celebrities who kept speaking up about gaza when so many others stayed quiet.

she has consistently used her platform to talk about palestinian children and humanitarian aid, which honestly makes me respect her even more.

and on top of all that, she is basically a superhero in my house because my daughter absolutely loves her. image

one of those rare internet personalities who somehow became trusted by both toddlers and exhausted parents at the same time. the videos look extremely simple, but that is kind of the point. slow speech, repetition, facial expressions, songs, pauses, and direct eye contact are all designed around how very young children actually learn language. to a toddler, she is entertainment. to a parent trying to make dinner while their kid learns a new word in the background, she is basically infrastructure.

ms. rachel is probably the healthiest version of toddler screen time, but it is still screen time.ms. rachel can help teach your kid words. she still cannot replace talking to them.

ms. rachel originally started making videos because her own son had a speech delay. what began as parents trying to help their kid communicate eventually turned into one of the biggest early childhood education channels on the internet.
